Photography and 3D rendering for a luxury ceramic figures catalog
A graphic design agency commissioned us to create the images for the catalog of a prestigious artistic ceramic figures brand. The goal was to present each piece in realistic interior environments, with a different setting for every figure, reflecting its unique character and style.
However, carrying out a photo shoot in real locations would have been complex and costly, as it required building specific sets or moving the pieces to multiple environments. For this reason, we proposed a hybrid solution combining professional photography and 3D rendering, bringing together the best of both worlds.
The main challenge lay in the organic shapes and high-precision finishes of the figures: reflections, glazes, reliefs and textures that are difficult to reproduce faithfully in 3D. Therefore, we photographed the real pieces in a professional studio, while the architectural and decorative environments were fully recreated in 3D, following the client’s aesthetic guidelines.

Each 3D scene was carefully designed to enhance the presence of the figure, taking composition, color, lighting and atmosphere into account. Once the previews were approved, the photographs were taken using the same lighting and perspective as the 3D environments, ensuring perfect integration.

The final stage involved advanced post-production and photo retouching, where both images were merged by adjusting shadows, reflections, textures and tones to achieve a unified, natural and high-end visual result. Finally, color correction was applied to ensure an accurate reproduction of the original materials and finishes.

The result was a collection of realistic and sophisticated images, ready for catalog and advertising use, conveying the craftsmanship quality and prestige of the pieces. Thanks to this combination of photography and 3D rendering, the client achieved outstanding visual results at a significantly lower cost than a full photographic production in real locations.
